Briefed to lead the Halloween creative across George, George Home and ASDA, this brief was an amazing opportunity to achieve true consistency for both George and ASDA across in-store and online channels. A first in creative execution for the two brands, and the ideal opportunity to help the retailer regain their position as being ‘best for event’s’.
Having not refreshed the Halloween look and feel in several years, the opportunity for creative was huge, whilst it was important for the creative have the longevity to comfortably sit across all product trends and departments, with the new look and feel flooding all customer touch-points across packaging, in-store, online and social.
We worked into the idea of the Horror Emporium; A true destination with an eerie charm, giving customers a one-stop shop for customers celebrating at home. The creative would go on to apply across all departments and product categories; touching food, home décor, confectionery, clothing and gifting; prompting cross-category shopping and giving customers more reasons to visit ASDA and George.

It’s the first time a campaign has spanned the entire George, George Home and ASDA omni-channel estate. A design and campaign that was fully integrated across both brands, George and ASDA, to offer full consistency; helping our customers to shop easily and buy all their event needs in one visit - Dress up, confectionery, dressing the house up!

They went on to be embedded into the social channels, onto the in-store digital screen, in-store POS, and within email marketing too, popping up throughout, adding a touch of personality and delightful spookiness whilst delivering cross channel creative consistency!

We worked with the developers to create a Halloween landing page, implementing bespoke background assets for an immersive experience, followed up with the characters appearing on the product landing pages throughout the products.
Provided as a suite of creative with a full guideline, the multiple teams within George and ASDA were able to work with the creative assets specifically for their own channel. Our suite of creative assets consisted of the lock up, typography, refined colour palette, background creative &amp; the characters themselves.

Celebrating A Century of Innovation and Inspiration in Berlin. Was IFA 2024 the best yet?
IFA, the world’s largest consumer electronics and home appliances show, transforms Berlin into a hub of innovation every September. Taking place at Messe Berlin, the event draws professionals and consumers eager to explore the future of technology.
As regular attendees, we at TOO look forward to connecting with clients, gauging market trends, and getting a first-hand look at groundbreaking tech innovations. Berlin itself truly comes alive for IFA, with the event’s branding visible everywhere—from airports to billboards, and even at the city’s landmarks. The influx of attendees sporting IFA lanyards adds to the palpable excitement in the city’s hotels, hospitality venues, and public transport networks.

This year’s event, celebrating its 100th anniversary, felt bigger and better than ever before. After years of pandemic-related disruptions, IFA 2024 was a full return to form. Official stats reflected this resurgence, with attendance up by 18% year-on-year, totalling over 215,000 visitors—133,000 of whom were trade professionals. Media attendance rose by an 43%, while tech bloggers and influencers saw a 300% increase.
The fresh IFA branding, characterised by a vibrant colour palette and the new tagline “Innovation For All,” contributed to an elevated sense of excitement. Larger brand investments, more delegates, and a robust consumer program demonstrated IFA’s growing influence and reach.

Based on our two days at the event, here’s a look at some key themes that shaped IFA 2024:
AI Everything Everywhere
AI was a central focus across the event, with brands prominently featuring AI-driven innovations in their exhibits.
LG's "Affectionate Intelligence Home" stood out for its immersive brand experience and consumer-focused categorisation. Rather than merely showcasing products (notably few TVs), LG focused on AI’s potential to shape future behaviours, presenting four distinct smart home concepts including: ‘Second Youth Home’ designed to care for active seniors, managing their daily routines, health, and safety, Smart Green Home’ a vision of a more sustainable, eco-friendly way of life enabled by AI, Affectionate Home’ AI-driven care for children and pets, offering personalized support, 'Delightful Home’ AI-tailored culinary experiences and daily delights designed to suit individual tastes.

Samsung’s “AI for All” was similarly integrated and conceptual if lacking the clarity of proposition, with language clearly catering for an international audience: “Wondering if your parents far away are okay? No need to call, just open up Smarthings Family Care. Stay connected even when apart.”, “Health tracker of your dreams is here. “You just fall asleep, AI automatically activates sleeping mode.”, “Check out Samsumg Food and enjoy a smarter way to stay healthy! It manages ingredients and suggests healthy recipes.”, and most amusingly “Answer your calls with your washer. Do not bother holding your phone while doing the laundry.”

The pick of other applications utilising AI included Vestel showcased a fun innovation concept called A(I)RT TV, which uses AI to generate dynamic wallpapers that change based on the environment around the TV—a creative take on home aesthetics.

Most interestingly were broader, city-level AI applications including HiSense's Smart City Platform demonstrated how AI could revolutionise urban infrastructure by monitoring traffic, public transport, and even disaster prevention, showcasing a future of enhanced urban resilience.&nbsp;
Sustainability in Focus
Sustainability was another key theme, with many exhibits embracing eco-friendly solutions. Messe Berlin’s halls featured lush indoor plantations, creating a fitting backdrop for brands showcasing their sustainability efforts.

Vestel made waves with its Biolive initiative, a biotechnology enterprise that produces bio-based plastics from olive seeds. Their concept appliances, made from 99% bio-based plastic, promise negative CO2 emissions and embody the circular economy’s principles of zero waste.

While many brands emphasized eco-responsibility, few offered substantial innovations beyond concept materials. The overarching message was one of technology-enabled efficiency, with products and solutions designed to promote sustainable living.
Wellbeing and Digital Health on the Rise
A noticeable growth area at the event was wellbeing and ‘digital health’, which accounted for several of the huge exhibition halls, with offerings from the big brands, and prevalently from dozens if not hundreds of growth innovation products and start ups in this space.
For the big brands, wellbeing and health is increasingly integrated into their eco-system of solutions – as with sustainability – helping to improve overall health monitoring and management with technology enabled solutions, such for assisting daily exercise and health maintenance. To what extent the connected OS propositions from Samsung, LG, HiSense, and the other major manufacturers operating systems are walled gardens remains to be established.

There were companies such as Yolanda that provide the system development underpinning the array health products and tools, as well as those showcasing the hardware such as Bodyfriend ‘dedicated to enhancing the lives of it’s customers by extending their Healthy Year Life by 10 years’.
Offerings ranges from massage chairs, massage guns, to smart body fat scales, to all manner of applications and smart tools for wellbeing.
TV Market Innovations
Here at TOO we are particularly interested in the TV category, we were thrilled to see the latest product launches and concepts on display.

The latest micro LED and 8K TVs boasted stunning visual depth and detail, pushing the boundaries of home entertainment.

The gaming sector within the TV market is booming, with brands unveiling products designed to enhance gaming experiences—high refresh rates, curved screens, and built-in speakers were common features. HiSense's partnership with Black Myth: Wukong continued the trend of content partnerships, bringing AAA gaming experiences to the forefront of TV innovation.

From a trade perspective, IFA reaffirmed the importance of in-person interactions for business growth. The event provided a unique opportunity for industry peers, partners, and remote teams to connect, with substantial financial investments made into the event and benefitting Berlin’s surrounding economy.

Wrapping up: The Future is Integrated and AI-Driven
One of the biggest takeaways from IFA 2024 was the growing emphasis on holistic, integrated smart solutions. Whether it’s health and wellbeing, eco-efficiency, or home management, the future will be powered by AI, promising to simplify and improve our daily lives in ways we’re only just beginning to imagine.

GMG's Sun & Sand Sports Flagship Store in Dubai

Excited to share more new work, this time with GMG's Sun &amp; Sand Sports, the leading sports retailer across the Middle East. An impressive 2260 sqm retail space, the flagship store design provides a platform to celebrate Sun &amp; Sand Sports multi-brand offer covering 11 sub-sports categories through both training, streetwear, and specific sports, whilst showcasing the key partner brands shopped by collection.

Inspired by the brands heritage and logo form, the store kit of parts has been bespoke designed and is iconic to S&amp;SS enabling the overall in-store experiences, digital executions, and service points to be improved. The concept encourages longer dwell and browse time in stores with moments to explore products, customise items and trial through omni enabled fitting rooms / lounges. All departments are fully flexible for VM and can adapt to support all specific and individual brand requirements. The universal perimeter system also enables the brand to grow or shrink categories to keep the store fresh and in line with seasonal sporting calendars when required.

We've been busy working with the team at Apparel Group in Dubai to develop their Back to School campaign. Our approach was centred around the idea of going back to school should be fun. Reconnecting with old friends, meeting new friends, enjoying breaks, playtime and learning new things. Influenced by social media and the communication of feelings and messages through simple stickers and badges; the campaign features illustrative sticker style graphics reminiscent of school, paired with photography and in-store props to bring the campaign to life.&nbsp;Creating a portable toolkit that can be tailored to photography, or stand alone amplified elements within windows, in-store, on bags and online. We've been busy working with the team at Apparel Group in Dubai to develop their Back to School campaign. Our approach was centred around the idea of going back to school should be fun. Reconnecting with old friends, meeting new friends, enjoying breaks, playtime and learning new things. Influenced by social media and the communication of feelings and messages through simple stickers and badges; the campaign features illustrative sticker style graphics reminiscent of school, paired with photography and in-store props to bring the campaign to life.&nbsp;Creating a portable toolkit that can be tailored to photography, or stand alone amplified elements within windows, in-store, on bags and online. Nike Bootwall at Intersport Paris Flagship

We partnered with Nike to design a new bootwall concept in Intersport within their La République flagship store in Paris. The new concept aims to attract customers with an overarching Nike brand presence. The wall brings flexibility and engagement to customers by featuring the latest boot pack launch, which can easily be updated in line with new launches, consistently remaining relevant and innovative. Our brief was to reset the existing Nike Football Wall by creating a concept that visually stood out and won the Sports Direct football department. The concept needed to work across both Flagship and Elevated stores, providing an informed and engaging consumer experience whilst still providing the necessary merchandising principles and educational tools.

• Invite the Full Family – Creating messaging, experiences, and displays that resonate with and feel inviting to all. • Educate and Inspire – Inspiring consumers and empowering them to learn more about the different boots, silos, innovation, and end uses that will best suit their needs and goals. • Comparison – Helping to facilitate and validate decision making, both physically and digitally.
Unique patterns were developed to represent each silo, connected to their end use. These were developed in 3D form, giving dimension to the wall. Digital ticker tapes and product hero boxes were created to sign post and educate consumers on each silo, alongside lenticular graphics to showcase key Nike athletes.
The new Flagship concept recently launched in Sports Direct Oxford Street Flagship store. The elevated concept will be rolled out across all new Sports Direct stores.

There has been a shift in shopper mindset with the purchase of jeans, this is due to a mix of trend preference, cost-of-living and sustainability awareness as shoppers look to make their existing jeans last longer and are growing spend in trousers. Over the past 5 years there has been a frequency decline, with the average shopper buying jeans twice a year and less than 25% of clothing shoppers buying women’s jeans in the past year. In a declining market and category, George needs to stand out to get shoppers to buy into and love their jeans. Taking the creative toolkit, we applied the refreshed department identity to in-store, on-product tickets and online. We love working with Nike, they love to collaborate.

At the heart of our in-store communication for Nike, is the celebration of Cardiff’s unique identity. Our brief was to find the best artists in their respective cities to collaborate with and invite them to celebrate the city, sport, culture, diversity, and inclusion.
To ensure the storytelling was authentic, relatable, and tailored to the local audience, we worked with local artists Will Barras, Hannah Frances aka VOZIE, Hannah Davies, Phil Morgan and Ed Fairburn to provide Nike with a powerful platform to engage shoppers and artfully articulate various facets of the brand.

Will started his artistic career back in Bristol where he moved from his native town to study graphic design. Shortly afterward, he became interested in street art&nbsp;that eventually led to him becoming one of a fresh crop of young artists working within Bristol’s extremely diverse and widely renowned urban art scene.
Will beautifully merges the cities diverse landscape and those that use it to play, enjoy and compete within. The piece is an elegant, fantastical, vibrant blast of energy and visual storytelling, and it’s huge, it spans the high-level atrium bulkhead, A real showstopper.

Hannah&nbsp;Frances&nbsp;aka VOZIE &nbsp;was born in Cardiff has been painting for ten years, flicking between bold colourful murals and black and white. She also enjoys teaching young children within the arts and runs graffiti and art workshops in youth centres and schools in Wales.
Vozie's piece for Cardiff, is big, bold and confident. It celebrates local artist friends in the art &amp; music industry. These characters show up as dynamic graphic portraits interspersed with glimpses of the city.

Hannah Davies Award winning Illustrator living and working beside the sea side in Swansea. Combining illustration and pattern design, Hannah’s illustrations are compared to a sea of jewels, capturing Water, life and the environment in all its glory. She is fascinated by microscopic patterns and the extraordinary decorative detail that can be portrayed.
Hannah’s piece for Nike Womens, puts her entomological lens on Nike product, treating an array of Nike sneakers and equipment as living creatures, a beautiful play to bring texture, energy and life to the piece.&nbsp;

Phil Morgan’s &nbsp;background as both a musician and skateboarder&nbsp;prove to be the strongest inspirations of all, imbuing his art with an authenticity that is instantly recognisable to peers with similar passions.
Phil brings colour, energy and fun to the Nike kids area. Phil's trademark hand people wander between some of Nikes most emotive statements, you can’t help but smile when this art hits you, it connects at every age, and everyone will have a favourite character they’ll relate to.

Ed Fairburn is an English artist whose ability to combine the geography of our facial features with the geography of the earth leads to a startling and compelling synthesis of the two. Fairburn known for his evocative portraits, which produce complex human features from the apparently random patterns found in mundane topographical and astrological maps.
Ed was our first choice to create a piece to celebrate the original ‘Jumpman’ Michael Jordan.
Ed worked into a detailed geographical map of Chicago. Jordan wearing his iconic number 23 vest, positioned over the United Centre Stadium (home of the Chicago Bulls) where he played for a majority of his professional career. The piece occupies top and centre of the grand atrium, towering above the proceedings below, art reflecting life literally. A truly worthy homage to the legend.&nbsp; &nbsp;
Each artist has created a truly unique piece that really elevates each area in store captivating visitors with engaging and immersive narratives that reflect Nike’s values and resonate with their target audience.

Sports Direct New Outdoor Department

Frasers Group Sports Direct New Outdoor Department launches in Cardiff. Store design. Retail Design.

Following the success of our elevated Running department, Sports Direct appointed us to redesign their Outdoor category. Targeting a younger audience, we were tasked to create an authentic, connected, and commercial destination that appealed to Gen Meta.

Customers are welcomed with a fresh palette and curated largescale motion content depicting the sense of freedom and wellbeing they crave. Clear product segmentation, seasonal inspiration and a combination of experiential physical and digital touchpoints help inspire customers and educate them in a category they may be unfamiliar with, whilst showcasing the latest technical innovations in products from brands that were new to Sports Direct stores like The North Face, Columbia and Salomon.
With a full service offering from our environmental design, graphic comms, digital and motion design teams, the elevated Outdoor category has launched as a key destination within Sports Direct’s new Cardiff flagship store.
