Reimagining the mall dining experience

As the first project by Felix Realty Group, Felix Plaza was envisioned as more than a retail destination—it aimed to create a vibrant, experience-led environment that brings together dining, entertainment, fashion, and community.

The challenge was to design a large-format food court spanning approximately 15,000 sq. ft. with 600+ seats, while moving away from the fragmented, noisy, and crowded nature of traditional mall food courts. The space needed to feel open, welcoming, and family-friendly, while encouraging visitors to linger, connect, and unwind.

Our interior design approach was built around the concept of "Under the Skylight"—a refreshing pitstop inspired by openness, natural light, and the feeling of being outdoors within the mall environment.

Leveraging the architectural skylight as the focal point, we created a dining experience that feels bright, breathable, and connected to its surroundings. Through thoughtful spatial planning, varied seating zones, material selection, and layered lighting, the design balances energy with comfort, creating an environment that caters to families, groups, and individual visitors alike.

The result is a space that breaks away from the conventional food court model, transforming dining into a more immersive and enjoyable experience.

The food court has evolved into a vibrant social destination that feels welcoming, spacious, and engaging. By maximising natural light and creating a strong connection to the architecture, the design fosters a sense of openness rarely found in traditional mall dining environments.

The result is a contemporary gathering space that encourages people to pause, connect, and spend more time within the environment, enhancing both the visitor experience and the overall appeal of Felix Plaza.
